The Stanton Bird Club will hold a walk this Wednesday, June 10 at the Papermill Trail in Lisbon. We will meet at the regular location, the Promenade Mall (855 Lisbon St.) parking lot near Staples in Lewiston at 8am. If you prefer, meet us at the Papermill Trail parking lot at 8:20. The parking lot is off route 196 at the corner of Frost Hill Ave. which also has a boat ramp for the Sabattus River.
This is one of the better walks with a very nice paved trail and usually lots of good birds. This year we have a choice of directions to walk. The new trail along the Androscoggin River into Lisbon Falls is now open. It too is fully paved but we have not been finding as many birds on this section, but you never know. We will decide with the people who attend if we should walk the new section or the older, maybe better, section. We will meet even if it is drizzling, but if there is a steady rain at 7am and it is projected to continue to 10am, the walk is canceled. The walk will end by 11am but you may leave early if desired.
