Another nice day, got to love summer in Maine (when it doesn’t rain). Sunny and comfortably warm today. Five people walked the big loop around Thorncrag including going to Whale Rock. The hi-light was the Wood (Michaud) Farm fields with a number of Indigo Buntings, but no Bluebirds. The following 28 birds were seen or heard:

Bald Eagle – only Gordon spotted it

Ruby-throated Hummnigbird – two different places
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker
Downy Woodpecker
Eastern Wood-Pewee – heard many, saw one well
Eastern Phoebe
Red-eyed Vireo – many, seen and heard
Blue Jay
American Crow
Tree Swallow
Black-capped Chickadee
Tufted Titmouse
Red-breasted Nuthatch – 3+
White-breasted Nuthatch (H)
Hermit Thrush – heard 2 or 3, saw one briefly
American Robin
Black-throated Green Warbler
Black-and-white Warbler
Ovenbird – saw 2 or 3!
Common Yellowthroat (H)
Chipping Sparrow
Scarlet Tanager – heard, saw one female
Northern Cardinal (H)
