Education Meetings
Monthly educational meetings feature speakers on birds as well as other nature topics. The meetings run from November through May and are free and open to all.
Bird Walks
Experienced guides lead bird walks that bring together everyone, from beginning naturalists to advanced birders. Walks are a great way to learn about birds while exploring a variety of habitats in Lewiston/Auburn and surrounding areas. All walks are free and open to all.
Junior Naturalists
Through its Junior Naturalist program, the Stanton Bird Club has been providing local kids with hands-on, nature-focused experiences for more than 30 years. Monthly after school classes on natural science and environmental topics help students learn about nature and help them recognize the importance of their role in protecting our natural resources in Maine. The program is free for all students.
Christmas Bird Count
Every year on one day in late December or early January, the Stanton Bird Club organizes teams to identify and count bird species in the Lewiston/Auburn area. This contributes valuable population data to the National Audubon Society’s Christmas Bird Count program. For both new and experienced birds, this event is a wonderful opportunity to connect with nature, enjoy the outdoors, and support avian research.
