Why We Don’t Allow Dogs
Birds, especially during nesting season, see even friendly dogs as predators and can be very sensitive to their presence. Research has shown this can lead to abandoned nests, unnecessary stress and exhaustion, and decreased habitat. We know that people see more wildlife in places where dogs and other pets are not allowed.
To protect the wildlife of our sanctuary, we ask you to respect our rules by leaving pets, other than service animals, at home.
Local places where you can go for a walk with your dog:
- Lewiston and Auburn Riverwalk
- Mt Apatite, Auburn
- Robin’s Garden and Dog Park, Lewiston
