Today was a great day to be out birding, sunny and warm … but we also
had mosquitoes, lots of them. Six of us walked Woodbury Sanctuary in
Monmouth. I often say the best birds are in the parking lot and today
the parking lot had a nesting Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, two frequently
exchanging places in the nest hole. We walked to Mud Pond and had a Loon
on the Pond who seemed very content, hopefully he is nesting. All in all
we saw or heard 39 species.
