Today’s walk was on the Androscoggin River Trail in Lisbon. Thirteen people attended. The weather was near perfect, the walk was great, the people were great, and the birds were great. We found 50 species but four were nesting. In the parking lot, Jack Collins found a Red-eyed Vireo sitting on a nest. Then walking to the far end of the trail Dana Little found a Ruby-throated Hummingbird sitting on a nest, Dana’s photo below. On the way back Dana next found another Red-eyed Vireo on a nest. And under the Sabattus River bridge were nesting Rock Doves. We saw many warblers, see list below, but we heard more than we saw. Red-eyed and Warbling Vireos called often. Rose-breasted Grosbeaks too. Again, it was just a nice day to be out with everyone enjoying the fresh air and birds.
