What a great day, weather wise that is, the birds were a bit on the low side. But the weather was clear, warm, with a slight breeze just to keep the bugs away, a great day to be out walking. Thirteen people went to the new Riverlands State Park in Turner with the first stop at the boat launch next door which is always a good spot for birds. At the boat launch we started with 4 Great Blue Herons plus one Snowy Egret (rare for Androscoggin County but they do wander after breeding), plus two Belted Kingfishers. The bird of the day was likely the Ruffed Grouse which flew across our path but behind us, only two or three people saw it (and I was not one of them).
