It was sunny but cool. Ten people attended the walk at Brunswick Landing
but birds were hard to find. We did get five warbler species and with no
Palm Warbler today. Hawks were good with a flurry of fly overs at the
end of the walk. In all we only had 29 species.
Species seen and heard (H):
Canada Goose – large flock heading north
Lesser Scaup – on the lake at the picnic area
Mourning Dove
Double-crested Cormorant – a number seen singly, maybe repeats
Osprey – at least two nests active, perhaps more, seen often
Cooper’s Hawk – 2
Broad-winged Hawk – 1 nice view low over parking lot at end
Red-tailed Hawk
Merlin – ??, seen briefly at end

Hermit Thrush – seen well for as long as we wanted
