Another nice walk in nice weather. Thirteen people walked the parameter
trail at Brunswick Landing. Birds were relatively sparse but with a few
particularly good spots. At the beginning near the fence line we had great
looks at Prairie Warbler, Pine Warbler, and a Bobolink. Near the end of
the walk we had great looks at a pair of Black-throated Green Warblers
at eye level, plus a Towhee in great light. Bluebirds were seen a number
of times as were Savannah Sparrows and Field Sparrows. 53 species total
and we missed a number we should have had. In most cases the number of
individual birds was very low.

Mourning Dove – 2 with male in bright breeding plumage (blue top of head)

Double-crested Cormorant – seen low in the distance
Great Blue Heron – fly over
Turkey Vulture – few? maybe too windy?
Osprey – 12, surely an under count and most had a fish (back in the
parking lot we even found a fish!!!)
Cooper’s Hawk – 1 over cemetery
Broad-winged Hawk – 1 high over head
Red-tailed Hawk – 1 high at a distance

Blue-headed Vireo (H)
Red-eyed Vireo – one seen well, others heard
