Winter Tree Identification Walk
Saturday, March 16, 10:00-12:00
Woodbury Sanctuary, Pease Hill Rd., Monmouth

Join Maine Master Naturalist Christine Murray for a short hike In Woodbury Sanctuary with a focus on winter tree identification. Even with no leaves on the trees, we’ll identify common trees by species using twigs, buds, and bark. We’ll also look for traces of the birds and mammals that make their home in the winter forest. This roughly one-mile hike, with some elevation gain, will include Woodbury’s majestic white oak. Meet at the Pease Hill Rd. parking lot (map) at 10:00, dress for the weather and come prepared with spikes or snowshoes.
