On December 2nd, the Stanton Bird Club will be hosting the second in its 2024-25 lecture series with a focus on birds of the temperate zone with Micah Miller PhD, Director of the Arctic Program with the Biodiversity Research Institute.  Miller joined the Institute in 2023 after working in Alaska for many years on a wide range of projects on waterfowl, upland birds, and seabirds with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Among the birds he studied were the Spectacled Eider, spectacular birds which breed on the Alaskan and Russian tundra.

A native of Maine, Miller received his undergraduate degree at the University of Alaska Fairbanks and went on to complete his graduate studies at Southern Illinois University.  He is now focused on the conservation of loons and Arctic birds, as well as the study of legacy and emerging contaminants impacting North American bird populations.

The talk will be held on Monday, December 2nd from 4-6pm at the Auburn Public Library.  The public is welcome.  The lecture series is free of charge.
