We had a very nice walk this morning along the Papermill Trail in Lisbon with great weather, hot but a light breeze. Twelve people attended and we had 38 bird species. We had good views of a number of warblers but the Black-throated Blue Warbler was certainly the most accommodating.
Birds seen and heard (H) were:
Great Blue Heron – 3 flew over just as we started the walk
Turkey Vulture – 1 at Staples sitting on a power pole
Sharp-shinned Hawk – 1 flew after 2 Kingbirds … or were the Kingbirds chasing the hawk?
Ring-billed Gull – at Staples
Rock Dove – at Staples
Mourning Dove
Chimney Swift – at Staples
Belted Kingfisher – 1
Northern Flicker (H)
Eastern Wood-Pewee (H)
Eastern Phoebe
Eastern Kingbird – 2
Blue-headed Vireo (H)
Red-eyed Vireo – many all singing but saw at least two very well
