Wednesday May 8

A good morning on the Papermill Trail in Lisbon. Nineteen people turned
out in early sun which quickly faded to clouds. When we returned to the
cars at 10:45 there were a few drops falling. We made the whole walk
without getting wet. As we waiting to start in the parking lot, there
was a Double-crested Cormorant showing his double crests. Three
sandpipers showed up one Spotted, one Solitary and not sure of the
third, but later we had four Spotted. And a Bald Eagle flew over, our
only raptor. A few warblers called but not many in the parking lot. As
we walked we encountered pockets of warblers and ended with eleven
warbler species. The best find was a Louisiana Waterthrush calling along
the river near where we had it a few years back. We walked the entire
regular “loop” to the bridge and the new development area.
