February 20th…Tracking at Woodbury…Leader, Steve Reed, participants David LeRoy and Richard Downing.

The weather was less than ideal. It had been snowing and raining in the morning. David and I were the only ones at the meeting place at Staples at 8. We received a call from Richard who was coming from Winthrop. We assumed that there were not going to be any tracks and that we would have a short wet snow shoe trek down to the Mud Pond. We soon forgot about the rain and saw tracks of deer, red squirrels, bobcats, porcupine, snow shoe hare, coyote, and dog. There was also wood chips from a Pileated Woodpecker, scat from Coyote, and Ash trees that were felled by Beavers 300 yards from Mud Pond.
