Here we are ready to kick off another year. Hope to see many of you this Wednesday.
The Stanton Bird Club will hold a walk this Wednesday, May 27 at Ina Small’s farm in Litchfield. We will meet at the regular location, the Promenade Mall (855 Lisbon St.) parking lot near Staples in Lewiston at 8am. If you prefer, meet us in Litchfield, if you know from past years how to get to her farm, meet us there at 8:30, if not see the last paragraph below.
We usually find a good selection of birds, many should be singing, the spring flowers should also be special. We will walk woods paths and some grassy fields, which could be wet (damp). As in past years, we will meet even if it is drizzling, but if there is a steady rain at 7am and it is projected to continue to 10am, the walk is canceled. The walk will end by 11am but you may leave early if desired.
Please join us, all walks are free and open to anyone who likes nature, enjoys walking, and wants to see new places. We hope you will join us. For any questions, call Stan or Joan DeOrsey at 933-2266 or email [email protected].
For those who prefer to meet us at Ina’s, her “official” address is 476 Pine Tree Rd., Litchfield. That should work in a GPS unit. If you want to double check DeLorme, map 12, follow route 126 beyond Sabattus to the intersection of Hallowell Rd., on DeLorme marked as Batchelders Crossing, just beyond Tacoma Lakes. This location is a 4-way standard intersection with a blinking traffic light. Follow the map from this point. Ina is at the southern end of Pine Tree, there should be cars parked in her yard, we hope to be there from Lewiston at 8:30 or soon after.
