What a way to end the season. We walked (and stood) around Sabattus Pond
this morning for our Wednesday bird walk and it was fabulous. Thirteen
people showed up. The first bird while we were in the old antique mall
parking lot was 145 Snow Buntings, and they stayed for everyone to see.
When we got to the loop off Access Rd., the first bird we saw was up to
21 Common Redpolls, and they were still there when we left. Soon after
that we had 10 Evening Grosbeaks in a tree, they stayed until we left.
Then there was the Iceland Gull and American Pipits. And there were
ducks too. A great day, no wind, no rain, but no sun either until the end.

This was our last walk this year. In April I will send a schedule for
next summer. Until then, have a great but safe winter.
